The 3 km stretch of road between Simurali-Manasapota to Kaliganj is back again to normalcy! Peeved with the miserable condition of the road locals a few months ago blocked traffic movement on this road for indefinite period. The administrative officials rushed to assure them for repair works. Later some patch works done with brick incurring an amount of about Rupees 1.5 lac. But, the brick patches have been damaged recently providing back the normal condition of the road! Surprisingly enough the local administrations are appeared to be apathetic to repair the road as each of the authorities including local Chanduria-I panchayet and the BDO were found busy to shrug off the responsibility. To the locals this road is like a lifeline as it connects the Chakdaha state general hospital, JNM hospital and Kalyani University. Local people now contemplating to launch a fresh movement demanding immediate execution of repair works of the road. Photo and Text by DEYA MUKHERJEE.
